JohannesburgFest is a music festival which pools art and alternative music. It’s held in an old, abandoned pool where the exhibitions and concerts take place. The concerts include electronic, jazz and funk sounds which make the music almost impossible to categorize in a specific genre. Our task was to build a brand identity which will be as progressive as the festival program itself. The visual identity projects the unpredictability of jazz improvisation and puts it in a balanced grid, typical for electronic music. We wanted a brand system that breaks the monotony and disrupts the surrounding on any medium.
